Walden Nordic is supported and offered by Walden Cross Country. Athletes will benefit from training on trails throughout the city, however the main training facility will be Walden.

Whether your goal is to compete on the international stage, or simply to develop the skills required for participation in cross-country skiing – a “sport for life” – we have the program for you. Our mission is to grow the cross-country skiing racing culture as a whole throughout the Greater City of Sudbury and grow into a strong presence on the local, provincial, and national stages in the years to come.

The Walden Nordic programs are developed by Cross Country Canada and delivered through our Provincial Sport Organization; Cross Country Ontario.  Our racing programs follow the Long Term Athlete Development (LTAD) Model, which integrates health and education with sport and physical activity.  It encourages all individuals to be involved in lifelong physical activity and articulates the need for all, particularly those that have the capacity and interest to become elite athletes, to be given a solid foundation in physical, technical, tactical and mental capacities upon which to build their performance abilities. Whether you’re new to racing, or are looking to climb the national ranks, WNR will help get you there.
